Bus Accident Lawsuit in Bergen County, NJ Settles For $1.25 Million

A 31-year-old New York man settled his personal injury lawsuit against New Jersey Transit for $1.25 million on June 30, 2014. The man was hit by a NJ Transit bus while crossing a street in Teaneck and was dragged approximately 50 feet after initial impact. He suffered lacerations to multiple parts of his body, a severe abdominal wound and a large tear in his left flank. Plaintiff’s injuries required a number of surgeries, though he still experiences residual pain caused by the accident. Settlement of the case was achieved following pre-trial mediation. Trial was scheduled for September 2014.
