Two Hudson County, NJ corrections officers recently settled their personal injury lawsuits against New Jersey Transit for $1.5 million and $750,000. The lawsuits stemmed from a single motor vehicle accident that occurred in March 2013. The officers were in a vehicle driving on Pavonia Avenue in Jersey City when a NJ Transit bus swerved into their lane and struck their vehicle. The officers sustained arm and shoulder injuries. Additionally, both sustained back injuries requiring discectomy procedures and cervical fusions. Their cases were settled at the same time during mediation prior to trial.
