Monmouth County, NJ Dog Bite Lawsuit Settles For $850,000

A judge in Freehold, New Jersey recently approved a $850,000 settlement in a lawsuit involving a dog bite injury to a child. The child was six-years old at the time of the injury, and was at a neighbor’s house when the neighbor’s large mixed breed dog bit the child on the face and mouth. Surgery was required to repair the lacerations, and left the child with permanent scarring in addition to emotional distress. The child’s mother, who witnessed the attack, also brought a claim for severe emotional distress associated with witnessing the incident.
