$985,000 Settlement For Child Injured By School Bus

In August of 2011, a school bus driver in Newark struck an 11 year old child in a crosswalk, causing fractures to the child's left tibia and pubic bones in addition to other injuries. The child was left with permanent deformity, limited movement, pain and post-traumatic stress after the accident. Both the bus driver and his employer were sued by representatives of the child. The parties settled the lawsuit for $985,00 during pre-trial mediation, which was subsequently approved by an Essex County judge on September 18, 2013.
