$3 Million Settlement For Two Injured Plaintiffs in Essex County, NJ Automobile Negligence Lawsuit

Two plaintiffs recently accepted $3 million to settle their Essex County lawsuit for personal injuries sustained in a rear-end automobile crash. The plaintiffs were stopped in traffic on Route 24 in Springfield, New Jersey when they were hit from behind by the offending vehicle. The first plaintiff sustained multiple herniated discs in her cervical spine, requiring three separate spinal fusion surgeries. The second plaintiff sustained multiple herniations in her cervical and lumbar spine requiring epidural injections, as well as a displaced jaw that required surgery. The case was settled through pre-trial mediation, with settlement proceeds paid from the defendant's liability and excess automobile insurance policies.
