Hudson County Medical Malpractice Brain Injury Lawsuit Settles For $3 Million
New Jersey Personal Injury Lawyers

A Hudson County, NJ woman who was left with brain damage after a radiologist allegedly misinterpreted a CAT scan and MRI recently settled her medical malpractice lawsuit for $3 million. In August 2009, the plaintiff went to Palisades Medical Center complaining of headaches, and was administered diagnostic tests. At that time, the facility and attending physicians did not discover the internal bleeding and discharged her. Approximately two weeks later, she returned to the hospital with the same complaints, and the internal bleeding was discovered. By that time, however, the plaintiff had sustained permanent brain injury as a result of the bleeding. The case settled before trial, with the insurance carrier for the hospital contributing $2 million and the doctor’s insurance carrier paying $1 million towards settlement.
