Pedestrian Accident Case Settles for $650,000 A 70 year old plaintiff was struck by a motor vehicle while in a crosswalk in Newton, NJ. The claim alleged that the defendant driver was not fit to drive due to physical limitations. The police report indicated that defendant had very poor vision and admitted to a physical handicap in his right leg. As a result of the crash, the plaintiff suffered a period of unconsciousness and had no memory of the impact. During a prolonged hospital stay, plaintiff was conservatively treated for an intracranial hemorrhage, facial fracture, and non-displaced pelvic fracture. Following his inpatient care, plaintiff received a course of physical therapy. When the accident occurred, plaintiff was employed as a delivery driver. Plaintiff claimed $30,000 in lost wages. On June 19, 2020 defendant's insurer, Liberty Mutual, agreed to a $650,000 settlement which was paid in July, 2020.
