A motorist who was critically injured when he was hit by a box truck recently settled his NJ personal injury lawsuit for $3.25 million. The motorist was attempting to change a flat tire on his car on the shoulder of the road when he was hit by the box truck that stopped briefly, but then fled the scene. The injured motorist sustained massive damages, including five fractured vertebrae, a compound leg fracture, a lung injury, subsequent infections and underwent at least 20 surgeries for his injuries. He is now permanently disfigured and scarred. The case settled at pre-trial mediation, with the settlement proceeds being paid by the primary and excess insurers of the box truck driver.
